Physiotherapy Treatment

What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a therapeutic health profession concerned with enhancing mobility and quality of life by using clinical reasoning to deliver the most suitable treatment for an injury or condition.

Physiotherapists help people gain as much movement and physical independence as possible so they can resume their normal job and lifestyle.

Physiotherapists assess, diagnose and treat people with movement problems. They also deliver patient education and help people avoid injuries and maintain a fit, healthy body.

The Cyriax techniques

Dr. James Cyriax was a British physican, widely known as the father of Orthopedic Medicine.

He developed a system of assessment aiming to accurately diagnose lesions of the musculoskeletal system and a non surgical method of treatment for soft tissue lesions by employing a process of diagnosis by selective tension. This method uses passive movements to test the inert structures and resisted movements to test the contractile structures.

It is a method to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction.

Manual Physical Therapy

This is a specialized form of physical therapy.

In manual therapy, practitioners use their hands to put pressure on muscle tissue and manipulate joints.

This therapy involves improving mobility to stiff joints and reducing muscle tension in order to return the patient to more natural movement without pain.
